5Honda's OEM is the Perfect fit for the FIT
By MP06011999
I did not order this on Amazon, but did order it on the web. It came from an actual Honda Dealership and is this same part number. Note that Honda changed the last two numbers of the part number with each year, yet it can be the exact same part. Example: the last two numbers can read 10, 11 or 12 and they will all be the same part and will all fit the 2010 to 2012 Fits....so the dealership told me. He also said that they only come in black. He actually sent me one that said it was for the 2010, had the part number of the 2011 and yet it fit my 2012 because they are all the same.

Anyhow, I love this thing! It looks fantastic, was easy to instal and seems pretty sturdy. I'm glad I went with the OEM.

I took about an hour to put it in just because I was being super careful. I didn't wanna mess anything up on a brand new car. But honestly, it's a 30 minute job. I did not have to remove an old armrest as those of you with the Sport may have to d o. My Base 2012 came with no armrests. So this was just a simple job of popping out the center console, drilling some holes, adding some brackets and bolting it all back together. It looks factory.

I now have the comfort of an armrest. To me, that is a must. I mean come on people, let's be civilized here. lol

It does eat up 2 of the 10 cup holders of the Fit. But there is a very small pocket just under the front of the top pad and there's also the small storage of the armrest itself. So, really just a trade-off. Well worth it!

5Works great!
By Trey Trip
This was exactly what I was looking for! I bought a 2009 Honda Fit Sport about 2 months ago and wanted more then just the stock arm rest to share with my wife on our trip from Mississippi to California this Christmas.

INSTALL:
I found a great post on a fitfreak dot net that had excellent instructions (including pictures). Using these instructions it took me no time at all to install. I do want to give fair warning that this may seem like a fairly intensive installation but for anyone that has done any basic work on cars it will be fairly easy (just go to the site and look for yourself).

QUALITY:
It seems to be really sturdy and quality built. I like that it folds up and the built in compartment is small but could hold a cell phone or other small, skinny objects.

Over all I think that it is worth then difference in price from the $75 drop in model and would recommend it to anyone that is tired of not having a center console.

5Base model Fit owners must have!
By Thanoa
Before purchasing my Honda Fit, I enjoyed a standard luxury of having a center rested console. Keep in mind, my previous car was not a luxury vehicle. This amenity came standard.

Now, keep in mind, I absolutely adore my fit, but why this armrest is not standard is beyond me.

This armrest kicks @ss! It's super comfortable and adjustable for varying heights (I'm a pretty tall guy). It has a decent storage compartment in the center and keeps things locked in tight. I really like the fact that you can fold it upright to move it out your way in case you need some room. I did not mind losing two cup-holders either. The car has 10 cup-holders in total, I think I can live with eight (lol).

Bottom line:
-Great armrest to prevent arm fatigue and extend overall comfort for driver and front passenger.
-Buying it on Amazon will save you money instead of buying it directly from Honda.
-Adds additional storage options for driver
-Look s great and folds

Additional Notes:
Like you, I researched the heck out this item. I also juggled the thought of using a non OEM part. I'm glad I got the OEM original part. It just works perfectly, because it was designed by Honda for the Fit. Save yourself the hassle of third party. A buddy of mine had mixed opinions on a third party armrest he got on his Fit. It took some manipulation to get it installed right and it doesn't look half as cool as the original. I took it to a custom car shop and they installed it for 40 bucks (way less then Honda dealerships).

I will provide pictures soon :)

Hope this helps you decide!
